“Generation loss” is a term that refers to the loss in quality or information during the process of making a copy of a copy. For this series, one original laser jet print was made of the word "TODAY." That print was then copied on a photocopier, and then a copy was made of each subsequent copy until the word "TODAY" deteriorated to such a degree that it virtually disappeared.
